
About Catherine
Catherine Ronan is an award-winning Irish poet. She is deputy poetry editor and curates the Lit Lounge for Swerve Magazine. In 2026, she performed at the West Cork Literary Festival in association with the Irish Writers Centre. She was runner-up in the Midleton Arts Festival Poetry Competition, longlisted for the “waterford rhyme” competition, and performed at the RTÉ Drama Fringe Festival in Athlone. She has been highly commended in the International Fool for Poetry Competition. She represented Cork in the Cork Coventry Poetry Exchange and was awarded mentorship with David McLoghlin by the Munster Literature Centre. Her publications include Southword, Stony Thursday, 14 magazine, Crannóg, The Poetry Lighthouse, Abridged, Broken Spine, Swerve, FLARE, The Medusa, The Waxed Lemon and The Martello Journal. Her debut collection, ‘Elemental Skin’, was published by Revival Press in 2023 and nominated for The Heaney, Pigott and Forward Poetry Prizes.
